The lovely Jillian Harris recently traveled to Slaughterville, Okla., where she pitched in to rebuild the home of Brian and Audra Skaggs, whose two-year-old son, Jhett, has a weakened immune system after receiving a heart transplant.

“The Skaggs reminded me of ‘my kind of people,” says Jillian, who is still engaged to Bachelorette winner Ed Swiderski. “They love country music, campfires, family.”

Something about that hard hat definitely suits Jill, too …

Jillian Harris is never afraid to get her hands dirty.

Her expertise as an interior designer certainly came in handy, but Jillian says she also benefited personally from the experience on the feel-good reality show.

“After catapulting into the public eye, getting my heart broken, traveling the world, then falling in love, getting engaged, all while traveling the world again, and then dealing with a public media storm, I was frazzled,” Jillian says.

“I missed the ‘regular,’ spunky energetic Jilly, and worried if she would ever come back. As cliché as it sounds, this experience brought me back to me.”

It was also one that made her cry: “The entire process brought me to tears,” says the Canadian cutie. “happy tears, grateful tears and tears of hope.”

Somehow we can’t see Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi reacting similarly to such a situation, but that’s just us. What an adorable sweetheart Jillian is.

Chris Brown really wants to stay relevant.

That much is obvious, but the fact that he’s literally begging his fans to help that cause is pretty funny/sad. Brown used an audio message to spread the desperate plea.

His message is available through SayNow.com, a website in which stars can record messages for fans … of which he apparently has fewer die-hards than the old days.

In the message, the felony woman beater begs fans to help “bring me back,” saying that he won’t name names, but “a lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records.”

“They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to.”

A studious Chris Brown hopes for radio redemption.

Brown goes on to say he’s “a better guy now” … but says “[My music] won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio … I can’t be an underground mix tape artist.”

Chris’ popularity has understandably taken a beating ever since he doled one out to Rihanna a year ago. His latest album, Graffiti, was somewhat of a sales letdown.

We believe in second chances, sure, but calling out stores and stations for blackballing your album (true or not) isn’t the way to go, Chris. It just makes you look petty.

Since August 2008, Sarah Palin has been one of the most famous political figures in the country. Since August 2009, she’s been one of our most famous figures, period.

By August 2010, she may be unrivaled in the fame department.

Last week, we reported how the former Alaska governor was working on a TV series about her home state, pitched by none other than famed producer Mark Burnett.

A day before that, her publishers at HarperCollins announced she was embarking on a second book, a follow-up to her blockbuster best-selling memoir, Going Rogue.

The day before that, she was the marquee guest on The Tonight Show, upstaging the likes of Olympic champion Shaun White and American Idol star Adam Lambert.

No small feat there.

At least on the surface, she remains engaged in politics, praising the Tea Party movement, and somewhat involved in journalism … or whatever Fox News is.

A joke she told on The Tonight Show said it all: “The truth is, though, I’m glad that I’m not vice president. I would not know what to do with all that free time.” Bam!

Seriously, though. No one works harder at being a celebrity than Sarah Palin, whether she’s hitting an Oscar gift suite or trying to cash in on teen mom Bristol Palin.

But toward what end? A 2012 presidential run? Tens of millions? A daily talk show? Oprah-like, single-name dominance of pop culture and soon the entire universe?

Everyone wondering exactly that simply enhances her star power, as does the blurring of the worlds of politics, celebrity and the media, which extends beyond her.
